Chemical Peels in Manhattan, NYC & Long Island

Plastic surgery and dermal fillers cannot help with problems on the surface of the skin, such as acne, mild scarring and uneven skin tone. Board-certified plastic surgeon, Craig Baldenhofer, MD, recommends chemical peels for men and women in Manhattan, New York City and Long Island who need safe and effective treatments for the surface of the skin.

What are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are special acid solutions that are applied on the surface of the skin. The combination of acids removes damaged skin to a specific depth, so the treatments help with mild to advanced skin issues. We recommend chemical peels for:

  • Acne
  • Fine lines
  • Minor scars
  • Uneven skin color
  • Dry skin
  • Age spots

After the treatment, your skin has a fresh, rejuvenated appearance and a soft, smooth texture. Dr. Baldenhofer has chosen the ViPeel® for his patients. The procedure is more comfortable than other chemical peels.

What are the Benefits of Chemical Peels?

The basic ViPeel® treatment gives your skin a refreshed appearance in as little as seven days. We also offer specialized ViPeel® treatments for acne, pigmented skin, acne scars, advanced aging skin and sun spots.

Who is a Good Candidate for Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels work best on men and women who have light skin and hair, but patients with darker skin tones and hair will see some improvement from the treatment as well. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding may not be good candidates.

What Should I Expect from Chemical Peels?

The ViPeel® is performed in our office. Dr. Baldenhofer cleans and prepares the skin to enhance the chemical penetration. The solution is applied to the skin and allowed to remain on the skin for a pre-determined amount of time. A neutralizing solution is applied to stop the chemical process.

Recovery from a chemical peel varies by the extent of the procedure. Mild chemical peels may produce skin redness and drying. Medium to deep peels may produce scabbing, crusting and other symptoms. These deeper peels require several days or weeks for complete healing.

Light chemical peels can be performed monthly to exfoliate the skin. Medium peels should not be performed more than twice each year. Deep chemical peels should not be repeated.

How Much Do Chemical Peels Cost in Manhattan?

The cost of our ViPeel® treatments varies by the type of peel being performed. We discuss cost after your personal consultation with Dr. Baldenhofer. For your convenience, we offer several payment options, including cash, check and credit card. Financing  is available through CareCredit®.
