How to Prepare for a Breast Augmentation

The night before your breast augmentation surgery is likely filled with both anxiety and excitement while patients wonder if they’re over or under preparing. To help future patients get an easier night of sleep before the big day, we wanted to go over a quick list of what to do and what not to do to prepare for a breast augmentation.

The night before you should be eating a light dinner and try to make it as healthy as possible. You definitely do not want to be eating spicy foods the day before and try to avoid eating anything heavy after 9pm. Midnight should be your cut off point for all food; don’t eat anything after the clock strikes 12am.

Try to drink as much water the day before as possible. Switch out your daily cup of soda, or tea, and stick to water. That being said, midnight is once again your cut off point for drinking too. That means no glass of water on the nightstand and absolutely no morning cup of coffee. As hard as it may sound, our staff has the utmost confidence in your ability to get through the morning without a caffeinated beverage. Just keep reminding yourself that the results will be worth it.

Distract Yourself

Try to keep yourself from thinking about the big day the night before. We know that it sounds easier than it is to do, but try to keep yourself distracted. Watch movies with friends and/or family, go for a run, do something that will keep your mind busy and involves your full focus.

Remember that you’ve already done all your research and met with our staff. We will have explained everything to you to the best of our abilities and you are well prepared for your big day, so there’s nothing more to worry about.

What to Wear

Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to get on and off the day of. Don’t bother with perfumes or makeup. The more natural you are on your big day, the easier it will be for you. If you have glasses, rely on those instead of contacts. All jewelry should be taken off before you leave your home in the morning.

With that in mind, please do brush your teeth. It works out better for everyone in the end if you don’t skip that part of your daily routine.
