Rhinoplasty in Manhattan, NYC & Long Island
In the center of your face is a single feature that plays an important role in the balance and harmony of your appearance — your nose. The anatomical structure helps you breathe and sleep, and also enhances your eyes, cheeks and mouth. Any abnormality is visible to you and others. Board-certified plastic surgeon, Craig Baldenhofer, MD, offers rhinoplasty for men and women in Manhattan, New York City and Long Island to create a nose shape and size that works well with your other features.
What is Rhinoplasty?
Dr. Baldenhofer performs rhinoplasty procedures to improve the way your nose looks and/or to help with breathing problems. The overarching goal of the procedure is to make changes that bring the proportions of your nose more into alignment with your other features.
What are the Benefits of Rhinoplasty?
Your nose job treatment plan may address one or more of the following cosmetic issues:
- Nostrils that are too narrow or wide
- Wide bridge of the nose
- Bumps and odd contours
- A nose tip that is upturned, drooping or bulbous
Some of the techniques used by Dr. Baldenhofer change the internal structures of the nose. Patients who have problems breathing due to a deviated septum may experience better breathing, although this is not the main reason for having cosmetic rhinoplasty.
Who is a Good Candidate for Rhinoplasty?
Nose jobs produce the best results in adults whose faces and noses are fully developed. The procedure is not typically recommended for adolescents or children. Good health and realistic expectations are also important if you are considering rhinoplasty.
What Should I Expect from Rhinoplasty?
Dr. Baldenhofer uses several techniques when he performs nose jobs in our certified in-house surgical suite. Minor changes can be made by using an incision in the skin between the two nostrils. This is referred to as “open rhinoplasty” and gives Dr. Baldenhofer access to the interior of the nose. For the closed rhinoplasty technique, the incisions are made inside the nose.
A special bandage is placed over the nose to keep the tissues in place. You will only be able to breathe through your mouth, and you should not blow your nose. Dr. Baldenhofer will prescribe pain medications to help you remain comfortable. Bruising, swelling and bleeding are normal after a nose job. Healing can take several months.
How Much Does Rhinoplasty Cost in Manhattan?
Rhinoplasty is an elective procedure. As such, the cost is not covered by medical insurance. We discuss cost after the consultation. Financing is available for qualified patients through CareCredit®, and we also accept cash, checks and credit cards.
